For your information, here are our general policies that typically compliment the general policies of SCOUTS NZ .  If you require more information, please speak to one of your group’s leaders.

Use Of Personal Information

In compliance of the Privacy Act 1993 the following is brought to your attention.
a. The Scout Association of New Zealand and this Scout Group collect personal information.
b. The information is collected to: –
i) enable enrolment in SCOUTS New Zealand
ii) make arrangements for your son’s / daughter’s participation, safety and welfare
iii) allow communication with you, your son and daughter and your family
iv) allow for the planning and delivery of effective services through The Scout Association of New Zealand
c. The information is being collected by this Group for SCOUTS New Zealand and will be used by the organisers and managers. It will form part of a directory of Scout personnel and membership records and is available to your Group, Zone and Region. It may be used to inform you about products and services offered or recommended by SCOUTS New Zealand, and opportunities to support SCOUTS New Zealand’s work.
d. To the best of our ability, all information will transmitted and held confidentially and securely in electronic format, and will only be used for SCOUTS New Zealand for official purposes.
e. You have rights of access to, and correction of, this information subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act 1993.

Consent to take part in SCOUTS

When you register to join, you agree to your son or daughter becoming part of SCOUTS New Zealand at this Scout Group and to fully participate in its adventurous activities as much as possible.

You agree that photos might be taken during the course of activities and events and these are the property of SCOUTS New Zealand and may be used online and in publicity and marketing of this scout group or by SCOUTS New Zealand without further consent, but while exercising good judgement.

Active Participation

Please Note: Waiheke Sea Scouts is not a child-sitting service – we encourage parents and other family members to help out in the group, each Scout Group is only as good as its people and those people are the ones who take up the challenge!  You agree to share in the organising and running of this Scout Group wherever you can and are able to and will volunteer your time / skills when it’s possible for you to do so.

Raffle / Competition rules

  • The “prize draw” raffle is being organised by Waiheke Sea Scouts;
  • The raffle will be drawn in accordance with the NZ legislation;
  • The raffle draw will take place in a public place at a time and date and at a venue to be notified;
  • The draw will be made in a public place either by a member of the NZ Police, or a JP;
  • Entry is by way of purchasing a numbered raffle ticket (one or more);
  • To be valid, the purchaser must provide payment, full name, phone and email;
  • Each valid numbered ticket will then be entered automatically in to a large receptacle (e.g. a big box);
  • For each prize, a separate draw will take place (prize draw) – the receptacle will be shaken and a ticket randomly, blindly selected;
  • For each prize draw, only one ticket will be drawn and that ticket shall be the winning ticket for that prize;
  • Winning tickets will then be removed and not eligible for subsequent draws;
  • Any winning ticket that is not valid, or in the event of any dispute, the prize will be re-drawn;
  • Anyone winning an age restricted prize (e.g. alcohol) must be 18yrs or older or be willing to give the prize to a family member who meets the age restriction;
  • Every reasonable effort will be made to contact winners, however, if after reasonable attempts have been unsuccessful, or if a prize has not been collected with 30 days of notification, Waiheke Sea Scouts shall reserve the right to redraw a prize, reallocate it, sell or dispose of the prize however we see fit;
  • The decision of the organiser will be final and no correspondence will be entered into;
  • No monetary value of any prize shall be available and prizes are not transferrable.
